College Communications
For academic concerns or inquiries, parents can contact the class or subject teacher directly.
Parents are encouraged to contact the Year Leader assigned to each year group for broader concerns beyond a single subject. Year Leaders provide ongoing support and continuity from Year 7 to Year 12.
Throughout the year, parents can expect regular communication from the school for various reasons, including Half-Yearly and Yearly reports detailing their child’s progress.
Cultural Support
At SFC, we proudly acknowledge the Wiradjuri people as the land’s traditional custodians, honouring Elders past and present.
Their enduring strength and wisdom guide their descendants and visitors to Wiradjuri Country, enriching our community with their
vibrant culture.
Aboriginal School and Community Workers (ASCW)
To support cultural learning, we have dedicated Aboriginal School and Community Workers (ASCW) who provide academic and pastoral support to Indigenous students. They play a vital role in fostering cultural awareness throughout our school community, including organising annual NAIDOC celebrations and delivering culturally relevant content in classrooms upon request. For parents and carers seeking more information about support for Indigenous students, please get in touch with our administrative staff in the front office or directly speak with Tinyka Tabain.
Student Leadership Opportunities
House System
Our four College Houses foster community engagement and participation. Year 12 Student Leaders lead each house, organise House Assemblies, and encourage competition in sports, missions, and various activities. Students are assigned to a House upon enrollment, often alongside family members, and placed into Pastoral Groups overseen by a Pastoral Teacher. The Houses are:
- Champagnat (Green): Named after Blessed Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers Order.
- Henschke (Red): Named after Bishop Henschke, former Bishop of the Wagga Wagga Diocese.
- Lacey (Yellow): Named after Monsignor Lacey, former Parish Priest of Leeton.
- Tenison (Blue): Named after Father Julian Tenison Woods, founder of the Sisters of St Joseph.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
The SRC gives students a voice to provide advice and feedback on behalf of their peers and fosters a positive school environment. Open to students from Years 7 to 11, the SRC meets fortnightly to discuss issues and plan events. The Council meets twice a term with the Principal to present student concerns and suggestions.
Peer Support Program
Our Peer Support Program helps Year 7 students transition into high school by pairing them with Year 10 mentors. The groups meet throughout the year, especially in Term One, to support Year 7 students. This program allows Year 10 students to develop mentorship and group management leadership skills.
Year 10 Community Program
Year 10 Boarders can participate in community programs after school, volunteering at a local nursing home to provide
companionship to the elderly residents.
Leeton Youth Council
The Leeton Shire Council facilitates a Youth Council for Years 10 and 11 students. Selected students attend meetings to provide a youth perspective on local issues and gain an understanding of local government processes.
College Captains, Boarding Captains, and School Leaders
Two School Captains and two Boarding Captains are elected annually to serve as representatives and role models for their peers. They chair assemblies, speak at formal events, and represent the school at community functions. Year 12 students, formally badged at the Opening Mass, are considered leaders and given opportunities to organise and run school events.
Pastoral Care Team
Key Elements of Student Care
Key Elements of Student Care Our Pastoral and Academic Care (PAC) classes are held daily in a structured format. Each student is assigned a PAC teacher who remains with them throughout their journey at SFC. We integrate the Resilience Project program into our commitment to student wellbeing. This initiative teaches essential skills of Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM), empowering students with resilience and self-worth crucial for their growth into adulthood.

This team includes the Principal, the Assistant Principal, the Head of Boarding, the Leader of Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care, the Leader of Inclusive and Diverse Learners, the Aboriginal School and Community Workers, and the school?s Counselor.

various wellbeing services for parents, carers, and students.
Medical Care
On-site Registered Nurse
Our medical centre is staffed by a Registered Nurse, Mrs Vonn Gavel, during school hours. Students can access this facility for medical needs, including dispensing prescribed medication provided in its original packaging with the appropriate script. We require written permission from a parent or guardian/carers for over-the-counter medicines. Parents or guardians can update their child’s medical information through the main office or directly with the medical centre. The school maintains strict confidentiality regarding students’ medical histories, ensuring that only necessary staff have access to sensitive information. In emergencies, the school acts in the best interest of health, safety, and wellbeing.
Contacting Parents or Guardians
If a parent or guardian needs to reach their child during school hours, they can contact the main office. In cases where a student needs to go home due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the school will contact the appropriate person directly. Please note, for safety and coordination purposes, students are not permitted to
contact parents or guardians directly; the school staff manage all arrangements for student pick-up.
